Tribute to Mr. Sriram Gade

It is with a great sense of shock and sadness that the Non-Bank Financial Institutions Regulatory Authority announces the passing on of our dear friend and colleague Mr. Sriram Gade.

Mr. Gade joined the Regulatory Authority in 2014 as Director of the Lending Activities Department. He was later appointed as Deputy Chief Executive Officer (Regulatory) in 2016 until the time of his passing. He briefly acted as the Chief Executive Officer before the substantive appointment was made.

Mr. Gade possessed a wealth of experience in the financial services sector acquired over several decades locally and abroad. His professional career encompassed both the banking and non-banking sectors, where he served in various capacities including being Chief Executive Officer of Capital Bank in Botswana.

Mr. Gade was an avid reader with a strong analytical mind and a wealth of knowledge and understanding of the non-bank financial institutions industry and its unique dynamics. This was evident in his contribution and leadership as Deputy Chief Executive Officer (Regulatory). We will equally remember Mr. Gade for his openness, humility, humour and compassion.
