Board of Directors

Section 6 of the NBFIRA Act 2023 establishes the Board of Directors as the governing body of the Authority and is responsible for the direction of the Authority’s affairs as well as providing general policy direction.

The appointment of Board Members is vested in the Minister of Finance as per the NBFIRA Act 2023, Section 7.

The NBFIRA Board of Directors comprises of:

1. Mr. Thabo Emmanuel Gaadingwe (Board Chair)
2. Mrs. Hilda Hlanti
3. Mrs. Patrinah Masalela (ex officio member from the Ministry of Finance)
4. Dr. Lesedi Senatla (ex officio member from Bank of Botswana)
5. Mr. Oduetse Motshidisi (Chief Executive Officer and ex officio member)
6. Ms. Lerang Lephole
7. Mr. Kgotso Gaamangwe
8. Ms. Tshegofatso Modise
9. Ms. Thobo Rrammidi-Mokgwathi

In accordance with section 7(2), the Board shall consist of:

1. the chairperson;
2. the Vice Chairperson;
3. a representative of the Bank of Botswana;
4. a representative of the Ministry responsible for finance; and
5. four other persons.

The Chief Executive officer shall be an ex-officio member of the Board.
