Re: NBFIRA Board Announces Leadership Transition
The Board of the Non-Bank Financial Institutions Regulatory Authority (NBFIRA) informs stakeholders that the tenure of the incumbent Chief Executive Officer, Mr. Oaitse M. Ramasedi, comes to an end on 29th February 2020.
Mr. Ramasedi joined the Authority in 2009 and was appointed Chief Executive Officer in 2010. The Board of NBFIRA thanks him for his contribution to the growth of NBFIRA and the industries which it regulates, over this period.
The Deputy CEO (Regulatory), Mr. Sriram Gade, will be Acting Chief Executive Officer from the 1st March 2020.

About the Non-Bank Financial Institutions Regulatory Authority (NBFIRA)
Promulgated by an Act of Parliament in 2006, the Authority began its operations in 2008 and since then has achieved significant regulatory and supervisory milestones that have enabled the NBFI sector to grow and operate in line with international standards and best practices.
The Authority oversees the NBFI sector, as at 31st December 2018 had assets worth approximately P121 billion, accounting for 55% of total assets in the local financial system. In that year, the sector comprised of just under 750 regulated entities. The Authority is governed by the NBFIRA Act (2016) which repealed the previous NBFIRA Act (2006).
