Public Notice- Moitiri Capital (Pty) Ltd
On the 7th October 2019, the Non-Bank Financial Institutions Regulatory Authority (“NBFIRA”) withdrew MOITIRI CAPITAL (PTY) LTD (“Moitiri”)’s exemption/licence to carry on the Financing and Leasing business, following Moitiri’s non-compliance with some Non-Bank Financial Institutions (NBFI) requirements.
Moitiri has since made substantial progress in regularising the non-compliances and NBFIRA has resolved to reinstate Moitiri’s exemption/licence to trade as a Financing and Leasing business with immediate effect.
The effect of the reinstatement of Moitiri’s exemption/licence is that Moitiri shall continue with its normal business operation of a Financing and Leasing company.
In the interim, NBFIRA has received several queries relating to debentures issued by Moitiri, and wishes to clarify that it has not, now or before, licensed Moitiri to issue debentures, but has rather licensed Moitiri to carry on the business of financing and leasing.
