Public Notice - Appointment of Mr. Cowell Habana as the Deputy Chief Executive Officer, Professional Services

The Board & Chief Executive Officer of the Non-Bank Financial Institutions Regulatory Authority are hereby pleased to announce the appointment of Mr. Cowell Habana as the new Deputy Chief Executive Officer of Professional Services, effective August 1, 2023.

Mr. Habana is a proficient professional with more than twenty years in the financial services field namely, the insurance and finance industries. Mr. Habana’s career highlights include serving in progressive capacities at the Export Credit Insurance and Guarantee (Botswana), culminating as the General Manager where he led the organization through a transformational change that saw a marked improvement in both operational and strategic pursuits. He also served as Finance Officer at Southern African Development Community (SADC) Secretariat where he worked on EU Funded Projects.

Mr. Habana is a Fellow member of both the Association of Chartered Certified Accountants (ACCA) and the Botswana Institute of Chartered Accountants (BICA), and is a Licentiate member of the Insurance Institute of South Africa (IISA). He holds a Masters Degree in Business Administration (Finance & Accounting) from Amity University, India and a Bachelor of Social Sciences (Public Administration and Accounting) from the University of Botswana.
