NBFIRA hosts Industry meeting in Letlhakane and participates at the OLDM HR Village of Learning
The Authority on the 03rd November 2016 participated at the OLDM Mine HR village of learning day in the mining town of Orapa and the Industry meeting of Micro-Lending sector which were all aimed at educating and informing the mine staff on the authority mandate and the consumer financial education initiatives.
The events gave NBFIRA the opportunity to expose the community of Orapa, Letlhakane, and Damtshaa mine to the different services provided by the Authority.During these times leading to the festive season, members of the public always find themselves engaged in a lot of activities that range from unplanned borrowing of money both from licensed and unlicensed micro-lenders as well as engaging in money laundering schemes.
