NBFIRA hosts breakfast workshop for Francistown City Councillors

NBFIRA organized a breakfast workshop for Francistown City Councillors on the 6th of December 2016 . The purpose of the Workshop was to educate Councillors on the NBFIRA mandate, regulation, regulatory frameworks, the revised Insurance Industry Act and the Micro Lending regulations. In her opening remarks the Mayor Mrs. Silvia Muzila thanked NBFIRA for heeding to their call for empowerment of Councillors who are responsible for ensuring that electorate are educated on what various institutions set by government do, the laws applicable and also help Councillors empower Batswana to get in properly run businesses that are registered and licensed by the likes of NBFIRA. She continued by encouraging NBFIRA to educate Batswana across the City of Francistown since there are many unlicensed lenders who are impoverishing Batswana through high interest rates.
